It's been quite some time I haven't update my blog. For those who happen to drop by and read my post, hope you had a wonderful Easter, not forgetting other good times such as: 2008 X'Mas, 2009 New Year, Chinese New Year...It's always great to hang around with family & friends~ Time flies!! Last thing I remembered was returned back to UK for my final year and now I am just months (in fact, only about 1 month+) away from the completion of my bachelor honour degree studies in U.W.E. Bristol, UK. All this while in UK, my life has being great so far, firstly I finally get to learn & familiarize myself in that 'evil' Maya, :-) also some precious real-life experience i gained from my part-time job in my landlord's Fish & Chips shop. Nothing much for me to complain about~ Also thanks to those wonderful friends in UK...Anyway, that's all for what I can note down about my life in UK.

Before I end my post, I think I will share bits of what I am currently engaging in my animation project so far. Story pitched during last October, it was named "The Bugger" initially, but then I changed it to "Pest Delivery Inc." as the former somehow sounded vulgar to some audience.

Meet the MASTER

Hi, I am back with the feeling of writing about the Encounters Short Film Festival that took place in Bristol. Everything was great, but not as great as the Masterclass of Richard Williams that I attended~ Well, for those of you who don't know this great master/ animator, he is the author for the best selling animation book "The Animator's Survival Kit".

And now, he is going to release his compiled works into 16 DVD-Box set called "The Animator's Survival Kit - ANIMATED".

The whole set cost approximately £700, which equals roughly RM3800++...oh my god, at first I still thinking if I am able to grab a copy of that DVD-Box set but seem that it's impossible now~ But anyway, he is really a great person and he is the person who still holds the wonderful principles & formulas of Animation passed down to him by few legendary artists during the Golden Age of Animation such as Chuck Jones, Ken Harris, Milt Kahl and Art Babbitt. It is my honour to be able to attend his Masterclass session, and also meet him in person, have some mini chats with him and his signature. It's a shame I don't have the book for him to sign...But hey, I still manage to take a photo with him~

Well, that's all for now. In conclusion I really enjoyed the session very much and got inspired by Mr. Williams on how to animate in correct and efficient way. By the way, check out the promo video for the Logo of the DVD-Box set~

"Family" photos “全家福”...

Finally it's already November and also my blog has turn 1 years old. How fast time is passing~ The weather is getting colder and sky starts to get dark earlier since apparently Winter is approaching. All this while in the UK i am glad that I have my own entertainment, so I decided to shoot photos for my "Friends" a.k.a. my entertainers...

· From the left: my PSP-1000 Ceramic White, my 5th Generation iPod Classic 80GB Black & the new member - my iPhone 3G 16BG Black. Say "Cheese!~" XD

Another good thing is, I am able to use my iPhone with the current UK sim card flawlessly with the help of TURBO SIM which I bought through eBay, the seller is from Hong Kong and the transaction is pleasant & fast beyond my expectations. By the way what is TURBO SIM and why I need to use it? Okay, this can be explain as: the iPhone 3G sold in most of the countries now are actually tied up with contracts or locked to their own official carrier network, except Hong Kong & Italy. No doubt, my iPhone is also locked to Aussies' 'yes' OPTUS. So currently before the hacking Dev team for iPhone release their software-unlocking method for iPhone 3G, the only solution now is to use hardware-unlock method, which is this TURBO SIM thingy.

· This is the hardware-unlock solution that I am using currently, image sources from http://gevey-3g.com/.

· Took these photos for my "i-Friends" sometime ago. Obviously my phone used OPTUS sim card at that time so roaming as Orange UK network. Sadly, no calls or SMS yet for my iPhone at that time. :(

And yeah, with this TURBO SIM, i finally can really use my iPhone as a "phone" rather than just for music and games. I have been using my iPhone with my O2-UK sim card & TURBO SIM in it, so far so good, but anyway I am looking forward to the release of software-unlock method soon~ Pathetically I chucked my old Sony Ericsson W900i with my Malaysia Hotlink sim card aside. :Þ

Singapore, Brisbane, Anniversary, iPhone...what else? (31st August ~8th September)

I am always late when it comes to things about posting my own events/updates and stuffs, I admit that and suppose what I am writing now is about what I did for the passed August end till beginning of September. Anyway I am glad there are some of you who willing to spend your precious time to have a look at my blog, which is what I really appreciate. For those who support and view my blog, Thank You! Ok, lets get into the topic, shall we?

Well, that time I actually went to Singapore and also Brisbane for trip. Again, without the need to explain it was because my girlfriend got the operation flight to Brisbane where normally have layovers in Singapore. Oh my, before I forget I should have really admit how lucky I am to be able to travel to different places! All credit goes to my girlfriend. By the way, unexpectedly I managed to get the Apple iPhone in Brisbane which is kinda like surprise for myself. What I mean like, hey, all the while I've been like crazy about the iPhone and keep checking and doing research of that especially the 3G version which I am using now, maybe you might ask what the heck I am so fond about this phone? What I can tell is I've waited for it since the first launch of the 2G version in June 2007 (my hometown buddies can be my witnesses, literally few of us are sort of "iPhone gang" now, or even my girlfriend can ultimately proof how strong my enthusiasm on owning an iPhone, she knows me well~). Other than that, what made this whole trip so meaningful is not iPhone, but actually our Anniversary of me and my girlfriend which falls on 7th September (we've being together for 6 years). It's a pity we missed the chance to celebrate last year, but not for this year! God bless we were able to celebrate together on time. To my girlfriend: No matter what lies ahead of us or how unknown the future is, let us face them with no fear and I will do my best in cherishing & hold this precious relationship of you and me, I Love You!

· Yeah~ took in Singapore Chinatown which mainly called in mandarin as 'Niu Che Shui' 牛车水. This was my 1st time here in Chinatown. Honestly I really prefer this rather than the Chinatown in KL. Why? To explain my reason is I can walk freely on the streets here without worrying the safety of myself and my belongings. Another easy description is 'well organized'...anymore question? If you been to Singapore, you will know what I mean. (above are purely my personal opinions, no offense. KL still have attractions in certain ways ^_^)

· This is the picture of me in Brisbane. We were actually grabbing some food and short break in Hungry Jack's after done some mini shopping. Thanks to my girlfriend's colleague Chong for taking this picture of us.

· Oh my, oh my! What more can i say for this? I got the iPhone 3G~! It is from 'yes'OPTUS Australia, 16GB model and...without sticky contracts, just come in bundled with Prepaid, cost me AUS$849, after i claimt the tax refund which was about RM2250, considered cheap compare to getting it in other places or even through unofficial seller in Malaysia that offer the ridiculous price ranging between RM3600 to RM4000 for a 16GB iPhone 3G.

· haha, so happy even just merely after got my iPhone activated online in 'yes'OPTUS.

· on the flight back to Singapore from Brisbane. It's nice to be able to take picture with my girlfriend in her operation outfit.

· Our 6th Anniversary fine dining in Doc Cheng's located in Raffles Hotel, Singapore. Enjoyed the romantic atmosphere, delicious cuisines, relax mood and moment of dining with my beauty. (Obviously we compromised when taking the photo accompanied with flashlight as the whole place was quite dark)

· We took this photo after our dinner, took together with my Gf's good friend who also working in Doc Cheng's. She is very nice and lovely to prepare most of the food in our menus. Feel happy for her too as my Gf is so proud of how well her friend is doing now as a Chef. And not forgetting to say Bravo! to all the Chefs and waiters/waitress, it was a good dinner~

List of highlights from March to August. (Part-2)

My apologizes here as I am so late for the part 2 post since I've been quite busy or to say hardly get online after my part 1. Well, had been busy in traveling, preparing for returning to UK...blah blah, and whoa~ finally I've settled down myself back in Bristol and kinda like back to studies life. Anyway here will be my part 2 which is for this previous title I've started.

May~30th June: After the 2 trips I've gone for March and April, nothing to specify for this period of time as was just purely working, and still...working. Yeah, life's pretty much the same since is just doing the same thing everyday. But then still I managed to learn and get precious inspirations. Thanks to those wonderful colleagues in Mirage Works.

· this is the ONE & ONLY photo that I took in MirageWorks with all the crew members, and also the time where everyone was present and 'complete'. (Standing) From the left: "Kotak", David "Timbaland", "Master" Hoe Yi, Cha Hwang, ME, Roden, "Humor & always good mood" Vun Ching. What about (sitting)? Haha, no need mention also knew they are the bosses~)

July: Alright, actually my plan was to stop working in MirageWorks beginning of 1st July onwards but expected need to stay for awhile as still have few projects engaged haven't complete so I was requested to stay until the 31st of July only I go, but I got my plan set up for July so in the end got the deal of working from 17th until 31st. So, for the 1st half of the month I actually went for another trip with my girlfriend again, that time was in Bangkok, Thailand. Comments? The weather with hot blazing sunshine is 1 thing, the rest considered enjoyable.

· in the Golden Palace and all visitors were required to wear the attire which cover most part of our bodies to show respect when in the Palace area.

August: Stopped working since the 1st of this month and just like taking rest in my hometown. But in the same time there were some travel plans. :) Well, actually decided to visit Beijing as my girlfriend got an operate flight to there but too bad since August is the month of Olympic 2008 Events, the visitor VISA was so hard to get and also the embassy people start to use the chance to charge higher VISA processing fees. No luck to visit Beijing~ but still okay as I visited my girlfriend in Abu Dhabi. Went to Dubai for a day trip. Seriously, you will never want to go out instead staying indoors as the hot and dry weather is not good to mess with...But still, the whole time in Abu Dhabi was really an enjoyable one and to add up the sweetness, me and my girlfriend still managed to celebrate my birthday although I was there with her after a week passed my birthday. And one thing, I really like my girlfriend's room at there~

· really love my girlfriend's room. I am really proud of the way how she design the arrangement of the furnitures and also her choices of matching color of the material for the room. What I feel is comfort and relaxing in the room.

· yeah, feel so glad and touch as my girlfriend and I still able to celebrate my birthday eventhough it was a late celebration this year. I am very happy you always try to be there for me, V~ Love U so much! Muaks!

· yo! took this in Dubai, obviously the building behind me is the tallest building in Dubai called "Burj Dubai".

· finally took photo at the main entrance gate of the most luxurious hotel in Dubai - "Burj Al Arab - Jameirah".

List of highlights from March to August. (Part-1)

It's been a long while since i left my blog to rust. Well...here I am back to the scene again and bring along with me a list of memorable events from this period of time. Indeed through recalling back those events make me realize that Time is hasten incredibly during the time I am in Malaysia. I remembered that just when I arrived back to my home sweet home on 29th January and now...it's time for me to return to the UK. I guess that I might just experience the fusions of emotion where I am gonna leave Malaysia, apart with my love ones and local friends ; at the same time I will be soon step back on the ground of the Great Britain and of course meet my classmates and good friends at there...Okay, now this is the problem here, I am feeling the contradiction of whether to feel happy or sad? Hmm...but thinking of how fast can time fly, this wouldn't be a big deal. Anyhow, here you go...list of the events.

March: okay, the month which I started work in Mirage Works, KL. Alright, some adaptations required to catch up the working pace. Things worked out quite well for me at there. Manage to cope up and also meet some interesting people there.

Apart from just working, thanks to my girlfriend who works as Cabin Crew, I am able to use staff ticket to travel with her. So during the end of March, I went to Singapore then to Brisbane, Australia and also Surfer Paradise in Gold Coast, Australia.

April: As usual I was back to my work again. Feel bad to say nothing special to mention in my job, really. But I still enjoyed myself during work with friendly and talkative colleagues around. Another great thing is I manage to learn some other 3D CG softwares which I never know to use before this, even though they are just 'tools', but it's essential for CG or 3D animators/artists to understand the usage to ease out our working pipeline, after all softwares play partial role in our career and interests developing.

modo : this great software is now the replacement for LightWave 3D software which I learned to use previously during college studies. Modo is really a good tool for producing 3D still images with its more and more developed, powerful render engine.

ZBrush : this 3D sculpting & painting capable software really helps me alot in creating some realistic and complex-textured objects. I feel really enjoyable to learn it and also having fun experience throughout the adapting & exploring process in this software.

Poser : Nice figure posing and animating software, but lack of the ability to collaborate well with other softwares, some features are not quite user-friendly too. Learned this software basically just for dealing with massive amount of 3D human figures in Singapore ViVo City Shopping Mall Ad project. In my point of view anyone can easily learn this software and adapt to it in short time due to its limited functionalities.

Okay, there are so much to say and explain when comes to softwares so that will be just my simple descriptions. Not forgetting that I was very lucky to be able to travel again in end of April. That time was with my girlfriend and her family. We went to Taiwan in group travel form with other people, so what could be expected - everything was arranged nicely and scheduled by the travel agent. Nonetheless, I still enjoy the trip very much and tasted plenty of Taiwan cuisine.

Work? Rest?...Play.

As from my post title above...yeap, I've started working as 3D Artist again with the previous company i worked last year July till August. As usual, nothing much special to be mention about my job. Well, it's kinda like office working lifestyle, start at 10am and called it a day by 7pm. I being trying my best to maintain the balance of my lifestyle, trying to avoid any possible bias on several aspects. As I'm kinda person who used to work seriously in my job, so this is the problem - it keeps me sitting in front of computer with my right hand on the mouse all the time doing stuffs at work, except lunch break. But I am glad that I am able to meet my friendly colleagues. They make my time in the office easier to go along with as they are also quite humorous dudes. They are YouTube freaks as well and this make me back to hang out in YouTube again. Long story short, lets check out the video of this dude performing a very sick skill with 100% vocals. Trust me, I think this dude hardly needs any music instruments, LOL! Anyway enjoy the video & "music", do check back soon for updates! Thank you.

Back to Malaysia

A very very late update of myself, actually back to Malaysia on 27th January, after a series of events, celebrations, gatherings blah blah blah...and finally here is one of a post to make sure my blog won't be 'dying in silence'. All I can blame is I am unable to online at home, so this is a thing, I'm starting to miss the HIGH-SPEED online life in UK, ha ha ha! So, if you are satisfy with how fast you can surf the net in Malaysia now, I can say that you are totally wrong! (no offense)

My first X'Mas in the UK... / 在英国的第一个圣诞。。。

Another few days will be Christmas for year 2007, staying in my cozy room writing this post before the Christmas. The weather is getting colder for as cold as -3°C, but no snow...probably because of my living area. Night falls everyday after 4.30pm, so it would be a good idea for me to just stay in my warm room and not thinking of going out hanging around after pass 5pm.

Will be going to London for Christmas actually. Very glad that this year X'mas I am able to meet with my girl in London/UK!

寒冷的冬天，深蓝色的天空，无意间在空气中增添了一股忧郁的气息。。。深深地吸了一口气，啊。。。一种说不出的感受，仿佛像嘴里含着数颗薄荷糖的感觉-淡淡的呛鼻。。。看着从嘴里呼出的空气所形成的雾气，也能够觉得莫名的感动与多一份遐想。。。也许这也在示意我毯开胸怀地去体验这不一样的佳节吧~

Trip to Stonehenge & Salisbury Cathedral

Went to the trip today, considered quite lucky for not getting rain in these trip destinations, instead feeling EXTREMELY freezing especially in Stonehenge. The feeling is like no different from staying in a freezer, but good thing that I still managed to take photos although my hands felt so numb like going to detach from my arms. Wish SHE was there with me to enjoy the scenery...

looks familiar? no surprise at all if you are Windows XP user and never get bored of using integrated desktop wallpapers, no offense but you can find 1 quite similar to this picture :)

this is the Cathedral of Salisbury which have almost 750 years of history.

This animation was introduced by my classmate to use as reference for our group project 90 secs short film, so I was totally inspired and fascinated by the dark humor in this animation. Alright, this is the very first time i am going to start my blog here. Seriously, all the while I don't do blogs. But the fact that I am require to have a site to post my artworks & stuffs, found that blogs do help me in this case, so I just give it a go.
